Prizm® Viewer provides capabilities to customize a number of items during installation using a Configuration file. The following is a summary of customizations that can be made during installation:
- User Interface Strings - You can customize the About box and Status Bar text using the customization installation file.
- MIME Types/File Extensions - You can customize the MIME types and filename extensions that are associated with Prizm Viewer.
- Menus - You can customize the right-click context menu. Menu items can be added or removed by specifying a menu item or using a group. A group represents a list of menu items.
- Toolbars - You can add, remove, and set the order of the toolbars and buttons.
- Docking Windows - You can add or remove docking windows.
- Help - You can set the location of the help to a local or web address.
- Preferences - You can control the default behavior of Prizm Viewer, such as magnification, mouse behavior, annotation properties, etc.
Warning: If Prizm Viewer has been previously installed, any settings created by a prior installation customization may be lost. This can include loss of settings related to supported MIME types previously established by another customized installation. This can become an issue if you intend to use Prizm Viewer to access intranet sources with custom MIME types, as well as internet sources that may use different MIME type support settings. If you intend to use Prizm Viewer in conjunction with a public internet application, you are encouraged to use the permanent MIME types when delivering image content, since permanent MIME types are not affected by MIME type customization. For Internet Explorer applications, use of the Object tag where the CLASSID is specified as a parameter will also ensure that Prizm Viewer opens your content. If Restricted Commands are specified, or Restricted User Interface is set to true, related user interface settings established during the installation cannot be revised through any other means such as list file settings, scripting, or user preferences/customizations. |
