ImageGear Professional for Windows ActiveX
Working with Vector Data

ImageGear reads most popular vector formats, providing native support for handling vector data. While doing so, it doesn't perform so called "rasterization" (i.e., conversion of vector data into raster representation), but keeps native vector objects attached to the image handle, and provides a set of methods to operate this data, including rasterization. When handling vector data, ImageGear doesn't attach any raster dib, but uses an empty dib with IG_BI_EMPTY compression. This approach significantly improves performance and memory usage.

For some vector formats such conversion can only be possible for the certain platforms (WMF/EMF vector data can only be rasterized in Windows version of the product, and PICT vector data can only be rasterized in Mac version of the product). For some vector formats (DWF, DWG, DXF, HPGL, HPGL/2, DGN, U3D) ImageGear also control of the projection of 3D vector data into a 2D raster bitmap.
