Prizm® Viewer Supports Images in the Following Formats
This topic discusses the permanent, default and common/standard MIME types that are supported. To customize MIME types, refer to the Admin Tools help.
Permanent MIME Types & File Extensions
- .prizm - Prizm Viewer
- .prizmprint - Prizm Viewer Print Mode
- .prizmexport - Prizm Viewer Export Mode
The following table shows the permanent MIME types that are supported in Prizm Viewer.

Used for displaying content within Prizm Viewer. Any file supported by Prizm can use this MIME type and/or extension. |

Used for print without view capability. The print dialog will be displayed when Prizm is placed in Print mode. |

Used for export without view capability. The Save Pages dialog will be displayed when Prizm is placed in Export mode. |
Common/Standard MIME Types & File Extensions Supported
Default MIME Types
The following table shows the common/standard MIME types that are supported in Prizm Viewer as the default viewing types. If you don't want the following types to display in Prizm Viewer, you must either de-select them during the install process or once the product is installed, go to the Preferences dialog box and de-select them (refer to the "Adjusting Supported MIME Types" section below):

Additional MIME Types
The following table shows the common/standard MIME types that are supported in Prizm Viewer. If you want the following types to display in Prizm Viewer, you must either select them during the install process or once the product is installed, go to the Preferences dialog box and select them to display (refer to the "Adjusting Supported MIME Types" section below):

Adjusting Supported MIME Types
To select or de-select the MIME types/file extensions supported by Prizm Viewer (and used with Internet Explorer), use the following steps:

Go to the Preferences Toolbar and select Preferences. The Preferences dialog box displays.

Select File Associations and then select General.

Under the Select file types for Prizm Viewer window, click on the MIME type check box next to each file type you want to display. You can also de-select the MIME type check box next to file types you don't want to display.

Click OK to save your changes. The file types you have selected will now display in Prizm Viewer.
