PDF Format Filter

If you attach the PDF Component to core ImageGear, you can initialize the PDF Format Filter functionality, which can be accessed through the core ImageGear Format Filter API.

The ImageGear PDF Format Filter supports the following features of PDF file processing:

IG_FLTR_DETECTSUPPORT - auto-detection
IG_FLTR_PAGEREADSUPPORT - single page file reading
IG_FLTR_MPAGEREADPSUPPORT - multi-page file reading
IG_FLTR_PAGEINSERTSUPPORT - single-page file writing
IG_FLTR_MPAGEWRITEPSUPPORT - multi-page file writing
IG_FLTR_PAGEDELETESUPPORT - page deleting from multi-page files
IG_FLTR_PAGESWAPSUPPORT - page swapping in multi-page files

The following raster image compressions are supported by ImageGear PDF component for read and write:

IG_COMPRESSION_NONE - for 1, 2, 4, 8, 24, 32 bits per pixel (bpp)
IG_COMPRESSION_CCITT_G3 - for 1 bpp
IG_COMPRESSION_CCITT_G4 - for 1 bpp
IG_COMPRESSION_CCITT_G32D - for 1 bpp
IG_COMPRESSION_RLE - for 1, 2, 4, 8, 24, 32 bits per pixel
IG_COMPRESSION_DEFLATE - for 1, 2, 4, 8, 24, 32 bits per pixel
IG_COMPRESSION_JPEG - for 8, 24, 32 bits per pixel
IG_COMPRESSION_LZW* - for 1, 2, 4, 8 bits per pixel
IG_COMPRESSION_JPEG2K* - for 1, 2, 4, 8, 24, 32 bits per pixel

* - Supported when the appropriate ImageGear component is loaded

Once the image is compressed, an optional text encoding scheme can be applied to convert binary data to text format. See the description of the TEXT_ENCODING control parameter for details.
