General availability release.
Known Issues
- When
heicLibraryPath
is specified but invalid, a “HEIC library load path was not specified” error will appear when loading a HEIC file. This error message is not correct. The HEIC library load path was specified, but it is invalid. - If
showFitToPageOption
is set to true and the product is run without a license, then the “Fit contents to page” option will have no effect when printing. The “Fit contents to page” option will work as expected if the product is run with a license.
New features
HEIC File Support
VirtualViewer now supports viewing HEIC files. Administrators will have to configure the new web.xml parameters enableHeic
and heicLibraryPath
and install libheif on their servers in order to make use of this new functionality. For more detailed installation information, please refer to our HEIC File Support documentation.
Currently, VirtualViewer does not support HEIC on servers running macOS. If this feature is enabled, you or your organization will be responsible for obtaining the required third-party patent licenses for distribution of your application with the enabled HEIF/HEIC feature. Accusoft is unable to obtain a transferable license to give to customers. Customers must obtain it directly. See the “VIDEO TECHNOLOGIES DISTRIBUTION” section of the Software License Agreement for more information.
PDF Attachment Support
VirtualViewer can now detect and extract PDF attachments. When you’re viewing a PDF file and a paperclip icon appears in the document tab, it indicates that there are PDF attachments. Click the paperclip icon to view a popup menu listing the PDF attachments.
Bug Fixes
- After cropping a page that contains hyperlinks, any hyperlinks outside of the cropped area are now unclickable.

- Users who have their own OCR data should be able to use it now while
enableOcr
is set to false.enableOcr
