For those scanners that provide an emphasis feature, IG_ISIS_TAG_EMPHASIS allows an application to determine or specify a scanner's emphasis setting.

| Value | Defined Constant | Meaning |
| 0 | IG_ISIS_EMPHASIS_OFF | No emphasis. |
| 1 | IG_ISIS_EMPHASIS_LOW | Low emphasis setting. |
| 2 | IG_ISIS_EMPHASIS_MEDIUM | Medium emphasis setting. |
| 3 | IG_ISIS_EMPHASIS_HIGH | High emphasis setting. |
| 4 | IG_ISIS_EMPHASIS_SMOOTH | Smooth emphasis setting. |
