The Image Thumbnails docking window displays thumbnails for all available images in the list file or image file (if annotations are present on an image, they will not display in the thumbnail).
- While Prizm® Viewer is loading the images, a placeholder icon is displayed for each file in the image set that is going to be displayed in the Thumbnail docking window:
- Placeholder icon
-
After the image file is available to Prizm Viewer (downloaded by the browser), the file placeholder is expanded where there is a placeholder icon for each page in the file.
-
After the thumbnail image is generated for a page, the placeholder icon will be replaced by the thumbnail of the image page (as shown in the example below).
-
If you have very large raster, or CAD images, it may take several seconds to generate a thumbnail for the page.
-
If an error occurs, an error icon will be displayed in place of the page or file:
- Error icon
-
An error could occur due to: a file not being available, a password-protected PDF file, a corrupt file, an unsupported image type, or corrupt/missing page in a file.

Notes & Tips
- If the number of thumbnail images to display exceed the space available, then scroll bars become available on the docking window.
- Select a thumbnail image to display the full-size image within the viewing window.
- Paging forward or backward in a multi-page or list file will update the selected thumbnail.
- If an image type in a list file is not a supported image, a placeholder icon is displayed.
- If the docking window is not wide or tall enough, thumbnail images may not display. To display the thumbnails, increase the width of the docking window by hovering over the edge of the docking window until double arrows appear, then clicking on the edge and dragging it out wider.
