The PDF Search docking window contains the Text search box, Search button, Results window:
- Text search box - enter the keywords you want to search for in the image
- Search button - click the Search button to begin the search
- Results window - contains the results of your search, with matching keywords in blue
Notes & Tips
- Results window – The results list will contain a list of the keyword(s) that were found, along with contextual text (up to 4 words before and/or after the keyword). Error messages may also display at the end of the list in the event errors occur during a search.
- Non-searchable files - If the content is not a PDF or list file, the docking window will display text indicating that the “Current Content is Not Searchable”.
- Search button - After you enter the keywords and click Search, the label on the Search button will change to “Stop”, but the search operation will continue. While the search is being performed, keyword matches will display in the Results window until all of the PDF pages have been searched. If you click on the “Stop” button before all of the PDF pages have been searched, then the search will discontinue but any results found so far will be kept.
- Search results - Click on the text in the Results window to navigate to the keyword on the corresponding page.
