Unless otherwise specified, the operating requirements delineated in this topic include service packs supported by Microsoft.

Operating Systems

TwainPRO™ runs on supported Microsoft Operating Systems:

Windows 7
Windows 8.1
Windows 10
Windows Server 2008 (To use a scanner with Windows Server 2008, you must install Desktop Experience.)
Windows Server 2008 R2 (To use a scanner with Windows Server 2008 R2, you must install Desktop Experience.)
Windows Server 2012 (To use a scanner with Windows Server 2012, you must install Desktop Experience.)
Windows Server 2012 R2 (To use a scanner with Windows Server 2012 R2, you must install Desktop Experience.)
Windows Server 2016 (To use a scanner with Windows Server 2016, you must install Desktop Experience.)

TwainPRO runs in 64-bit, 32-bit, and AnyCPU-compiled executables.
Although it may run, TwainPRO is not supported on previous Windows versions (for example, Windows XP).

Threading

Accusoft considers thread-safe to be when an application using this component can use multiple controls running in the same process, where they don't interfere with each other. The thread creating the control owns the control and is the only thread that can interact with it.
