All TWAIN Data Sources and applications have a TWAIN Identity. This identity enables the TWAIN Data Source Manager (DSM) to keep track of all running TWAIN applications and Data Sources.
The application's TWAIN identity is set using the TwainDevice.ApplicationIdentity.
