ScanFix® Xpress contains a number of basic image manipulation functions that can be used to flip, mirror, and rotate images to the desired orientation. The different options are:

• AutoRotate - This operation automatically rotates document images (as opposed to photographs) to the upright, readable orientation. This method requires no user input for settings and only operates on bitonal images.
• Rotate - This operation rotates the image any number of degrees clockwise, and can also be used to shear an image if the horizontal and vertical rotations are set to different values. Since rotation may clip corners off the original image, there is an option to maintain the original image size, which prevents this from occurring.
• Flip - This swaps the top and bottom of the image. This is NOT the same as a 180 degree rotation, so this will change an image to its mirror image as well.
• Mirror - This swaps the left and right sides of the image, creating a mirror image.
