Detailed Information
Under the General Annotation Settings group box you can select the following:
- Load Annotations from the Following Sources - This group box provides options for where Prizm Viewer will find annotations, including web server, local and/or network files, and/or embedded in PDF or Tiff (including WANG) files. These settings are not mutually exclusive.
- Web Server - If you select Web Server, you must provide the Host Web Site URL and the annotation server application path. Do not enter quotes. Select the Add Mapping button to update the list of Host Web Site URLs. You can enter multiple Host Web Site URLs and associated annotation server paths. Select any entry in this list to display its associated Annotation Server Path. Each update requires both a Host Web Site URL and the annotation server path.
|
If the web server is provided here, it is also possible to provide the annotation mappings in list files or embed object tag parameters. For more information on how to do this, refer to Prizm Viewer Admin Help. |
-
Annotations - The annotations must flow through the same web server URL that the images flow through. If an image contains embedded annotations, and a web server has been specified, the annotations on the web server take precedence over local or embedded annotations. This is true even if the annotations on the web server are empty, for example, if annotations were created and then deleted.
-
Annotation and Mouse Behavior - Several options are provided to indicate your preferences for annotation behavior:
- Select the checkbox titled “After each annotation is created, activate Select Annotation Tool” to indicate you want to automatically switch the cursor to the Selection Tool after each annotation is created. This should be unchecked if you intend to create multiple annotations on one page and don’t expect to adjust their position or change the characteristics (color, border color, border width, etc.) of the annotation just created.
- Select the checkbox titled “Include annotations when copying image selection to clipboard” to indicate whether you want to incorporate annotations when you use the clipboard (such as to copy and paste display contents).
- Select the checkbox titled “Initially Show Annotations” to indicate you want display annotations (if they exist) on images.
- Select the checkbox titled “Initially Edit Annotations” to indicate you want to be able to change annotations as a default.
- Default Settings for Annotations - You can update the default settings for all supported annotation types. The option to Restore All Annotation Types to Default Values applies to all the annotations listed in the Annotation Types list. The Restore All Defaults button applies to only the annotation type currently being displayed.
