Question - When I try to view an image, I get a dialog box asking me if I want to download the image or a strange icon displays where the image should display.
Answer - This may occur for several reasons:
- Prizm Viewer is not installed. The easiest way to determine if Prizm Viewer is installed is to open the Prizm Viewer sample pages. Go to your Start button > All Programs.
- If you do not find the Prizm Viewer or Prizm Viewer Samples menus, then Prizm Viewer is not installed. You must re-install Prizm Viewer.
- Prizm Viewer is installed, but the installation may have been corrupted: Go to your Start button > All Programs > Accusoft > Prizm Viewer > Admin > Admin Samples and select one of the samples from the list to see if Prizm Viewer displays these images.
- If the samples do not display, the installation may be corrupt and you will need to re-install Prizm Viewer.
- Prizm Viewer is not associated with the MIME type you are attempting to view. Open the Prizm Viewer File Associations page (go to your Start button > All Programs > Accusoft > Prizm Viewer > File Associations) and review the image type settings for the type of image you are trying to view using Prizm Viewer. Change your file associations to enable the image type you are attempting to view. The change will take effect the next time Prizm Viewer is used to view an image.*
- There is no match between the MIME type the web server is providing for the image, and the MIME type that matches Prizm Viewer. If the image is embedded in an HTML page using an object or embed tag, specify the MIME type that Prizm Viewer is configured to handle in the object/embed tag. If you are using a hyperlink directly to the image, specify the image in the <HREF> tag. If modification of the HTML is not practical, make sure the MIME types are set on the web server for the for the file extension you are attempting to view.
