To install PCC for SharePoint using the GUI application, you must first successfully install Prizm Content Connect. Once you have installed Prizm Content Connect, you are ready to install PCC for SharePoint.

If you prefer to install via command line, go to: Installation using PowerShell.

To install PCC for SharePoint, follow these steps:

  1. Download the PCCForSharePoint.zip file from Accusoft.com.
  2. Save the PCCForSharePoint.zip file to your desktop and extract the zip file. 
  3. Run setup.exe. The Accusoft Prizm Content Connect for SharePoint wizard displays:

  1. Click Next. The System Check window displays:

If all the prerequisites are fulfilled and the System Check window displays all green checkmarks, go to Step 6 below.

  1. If there is a red "X" next to any of the line items, then you will need to take the appropriate action to remedy the issue and restart the installation:

The System Check window may display a red "X" next to items that must be resolved before continuing the installation. The following example shows the SharePoint 2010 Administration service is not started and must be started before continuing with the installation:


Possible errors that must be resolved:

Microsoft SharePoint Foundation 2010 is not installed:

  1. You need to install Microsoft SharePoint Foundation 2010 or Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010 before beginning this installation.
  2. Ensure that you are running this installation on the correct server.
  3. Go back to Steps 3-4 above.

You do not have permission to install and deploy SharePoint solutions:

  1. Go back to Step 3 above and ensure that you run Setup.exe as a user with permission to install and deploy SharePoint solutions.

The SharePoint 2010 Administration service is NOT started!

  1. Go to the Start menu, Administrative Tools and select Services.
  2. Right-click on SharePoint 2010 Administration and select Start.
  3. Once SharePoint Administration is running, click Close.
  4. Go back to Steps 3-4 above.

The SharePoint 2010 Timer service is NOT started!

  1. Go to the Start menu, Administrative Tools and select Services.
  2. Right-click on SharePoint 2010 Timer and select Start.
  3. Once SharePoint Timer is running, click Close.
  4. Go back to Steps 3-4 above.

Solution file NOT found:

  1. Ensure you have extracted all contents of PCCForSharePoint.zip and that you have run Setup.exe from the extracted folder rather than running Setup.exe from the zip folder.
  2. Go back to Step 2 above. 

 

  1. Click Next and the Farm Deployment Targets window displays:

 

  1. Select the Web Applications you want to deploy PCC for SharePoint and click Next.
Only select the Web Applications where you want to use Prizm Digital Rights Management (DRM); you must select at least one Web Application. You may enable or disable Prizm DRM for any Web Application after you complete this install process.

The Installing window displays:

  1. Once the installation is complete, click Next. The Installation Successfully Completed window displays:

  1. PCC for SharePoint is successfully installed. Click Close to exit the wizard.
  2. Give the application pool identity (or identities) permission to modify the tempcache directory at %allusersprofile%\Accusoft\Prizm\Cache\.
  • Determine the application pool identity for each Web Application: 

a.  Go to Start, select Run and then enter inetmgr.

b.  The Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager displays.

c.  Under the Connections explorer, expand the node for your server.

d.  Select the item Application Pools.

e.  In the list of application pools, select the row that corresponds to your SharePoint Web Application. Look for the value under the Identity column, this will give you the Application Pool Identity.

  • Modify the permissions for the tempcache folder; give each of the application pool identities permission to Modify the tempcache folder.
The location of the tempcache folder will by default be %allusersprofile%\Accusoft\Prizm\Cache\. If you wish to modify this location, refer to Configuring Prizm Global Configuration.
  1. Activate the Prizm Configuration Tools for a site collection within a targeted Web Application:

a.  Open the root web of the SharePoint Site Collection in your web browser.

b.  Login in as the Site Collection Administrator.

c.  Go to Site Actions and select Site Settings.

d.  Select Site Collection Features located under the Site Collection Administration section.

e.  Click Activate for the Prizm Configuration Tools feature.

  1. You have successfully completed the initial installation process.

Next Steps
