New Features for Prizm Content Connect v10.0:
Client Viewer
Thumbnail Viewing
- PCC 10.0 now has the ability to view thumbnails for improved document navigation.
Hyperlinks
- We've added support for jumping through document hyperlinks. We support external links and some internal document links (internal links work for PDF files only).
New Fit Types
- Several new "view modes" are available, including Fit-to-Width, Fit-to-Page, and several useful percentage zoom views.
Document Download
- We've added the ability to download the current document as a PDF.
Copy Content on Touch-Based Devices
- We've added the ability to copy text from a document. Previously this was only possible by using Ctrl+C when text was selected, which was not easy to discover and did not work for touch-based scenarios.
Skinny Comments
- A new "skinny comments" mode will now display when the viewer gets so narrow that comments are crowding out the document itself. This should make it easier to utilize comments on mobile devices and other situations where the viewer is narrower than a full screen.
Text Selection is Touch Friendly
- It's now possible to modify your text selection after it's been created. This works across all of our text-selection based tools, and is touch friendly.
Annotation Improvements
- Annotations can now be created with transparent fills and outlines.
PCCViewer.ViewerControl Updated
- The "Click" event of the PCCViewer.ViewerControl has been updated to fire when a user clicks on document hyperlinks. The event argument now contains a 'hyperlink' property, which is set if the click target was a document hyperlink. The behavior of the "Click" event is unchanged if the user clicks on a HyperlinkAnnotation.
New Book Reader Sample
New Splash Page
- Our "splash page" has been augmented to be much more useful. This is the first page loaded when you start working with our web tier samples.
Less Pre-Processor
- In order to simplify management of CSS for the viewer, we have incorporated the Less pre-processor into our CSS workflow.
Code Samples
- The samples have changed location. This could cause your previous samples folder to remain behind, as they are not un-installed when PCC is upgraded. The new samples are located under 'Prizm\Samples' – please be sure to refer to these samples, as there are significant changes.
Imaging Services
Improved Options for Configuring Multi Server Deployments
- A new option is available to set up a static list of servers for multi-server deployments. See Getting Started with PCC > PCC Multi-Server Mode in the documentation for more details.
Improved Service Status Page
- An improved Services Status page has been introduced. The new page show the status of all PCC child services on the system in real time allowing for easy assessment of system health.
Raster Image Watermarking
- Watermarking, introduce in PCC 9.3, has been extended to support raster output types.
Content Conversion Service
- A new RESTful Service has been added to PCC, The Content Conversion Services. The services is specifically designed to facilitate conversion from all PCC supported formats to SVG, PDF, TIFF, PNG or JPG. This service features a flexible REST based API and many useful options. Please see PCC RESTful API > Content Conversion Service for full details.
Conversion Demo
- A new sample demonstrating the use of the Content Conversion Services API is now available. This samples walks a user through the steps and options required to make full use of the Content Conversion Service showing the required URLs, verbs and Json directly in the UI.
Format Detection
- PCC now has true file format detection based on the internal structure the document. This means consistent and correct routing and document conversion regardless of the file name or extension.
