    Runtime Licensing

When an application that uses one or more Accusoft products is deployed, it requires a Runtime license for each installation.

When runtime licensing is purchased, Accusoft provides the following:

    • Solution Name

    • Solution Key

    • License Configuration File – The License Configuration file contains information about the Runtime licenses for a particular platform and version of a toolkit. The SLU (Server License Utility) uses it to activate Runtime licenses when the customer’s application is installed on their users' systems.

You can use the Server License Utility (SLU) to install the license. The SLU:

      • is a simple Java application that uses the provided configuration file to pull down a license and install it on the user's machine.
      • can be found in the "licensing" subdirectory of the directory where you extracted ImageGear.

There are two main types of Runtime licenses:

    • Automatically Reported - Distribution of Automatically Reported Runtime licenses is handled automatically through the use of licensing software components and web services.
    • Manually Reported - Manually Reported Runtime licensing requires you to provide the number of licenses distributed on a contractually agreed upon basis.
