Invoke a Pipe with Individual Functions
User Guide > How to Work with ... > Common Operations > Viewing > Scanning > ISIS Scanning > More ISIS Characteristics > Invoke a Pipe with Individual Functions

All of the examples in this chapter have used the IG_ISIS_run_zone function, which is suitable for most scanning and file reading applications. It takes care of all the steps necessary to get the image from the head driver and move its data through the pipe you have defined. IG_ISIS_run_zone is implemented by several separate functions that can be called separately by an application when more control over the process is desired. The separate functions for invoking an ISIS pipe are:

Stack

A stack is a way of referring to a group of related pages. These pages may or may not fit into the scanner's document feeder at one time.

Page

A page is a way of referring to an individual page of a stack.

Zone

A zone is a way of referring to an individual area upon a page.
