Pixel Translations supports a large number of image scanners, each with different capabilities. One of the more important capabilities that users want to work with is sheet feeding mechanisms. The toolkit has a tag for checking whether the scanner has a flatbed, feeder, or both, and whether the scanner can report whether there is a page loaded on the flatbed or in the feeder. Once the application has determined the capabilities of the scanning mechanism, the toolkit has a function just for checking the status of the feeder: IG_ISIS_drv_is_loaded.
