ImageGear .NET v23.3 introduces improvements to PDF functionality and Libre Office.

PDF:

• New simplified API for adding images to the PDF with a few lines of code.
• Added options to control PDF compression.

Libre Office:

• Now supports loading and displaying legacy binary office files (.doc, .xls, .ppt).

ImageGear .NET v23.2 introduces Acroforms widget annotation customization, PDF compression features, Visual Studio 2017 samples support and overall improvements.

• Improved Acroforms widget annotation support by adding appearance customization, such as colors and borders, as well as improved creating, adding, and removing widgets.

• Added Visual Studio 2017 support for the samples.
• Added Windows Server 2016 support.
• Fixed usability bugs and made other improvements.

Office

ImageGear .NET v23.1 introduces LibreOffice support to ImageGear.Formats.Office namespace, which provides the following enhancements to Office:

• Updated the Office engine with LibreOffice, providing the following improvements:
  • Convert single page Word document to PDF or SVG
  • Convert a multi-page Word document to PDF
  • Extract text from a PowerPoint document
  • Extract text from a Word document
• Improved pagination office files

Acroforms Support

With ImageGear’s Acroforms support, you can add the following capabilities to your imaging application:

In ImageGear .NET v23, we’ve improved both the conversion to PDF/A and the compliance check of PDF/A conversions.

OCR

ImageGear .NET v23 provides the following enhancements to OCR:

• Updated the OCR engine, providing the following performance improvements:
  • Zoning order
  • Western OCR layout, accuracy of zone creation, and resulting OCR
  • Asian OCR engine speed and accuracy
• Added support for writing to PDF output with Asian language characters for Chinese, Japanese, and Korean
• Added auto-language detection setting
• Overhauled the OCR help section:
  • Added a new Getting Started with OCR tutorial
  • Simplified the structure of the content
  • Added/updated the code snippets throughout the section
