The workbook is the central structure within a SpreadsheetML package. The workbook provides access to the worksheets, which contain the cells that provide the text, numbers, dates and other content. The workbook part and corresponding properties comprise data used to set application and workbook-level operational state.
Many workbook-level properties describe characteristics more suitable for a spreadsheet application that support editing. As a read-only viewer, ImageGear supports a limited subset of the features in the workbook part. These features are described below.

Sheets |
This element represents the collection of sheets in the workbook. There are different types of sheets you can create in SpreadsheetML. The most common sheet type is a worksheet; also called a spreadsheet. A worksheet is the primary document that you use in SpreadsheetML to store and work with data. A worksheet consists of cells that are organized into columns and rows. |
ImageGear only supports the worksheet sheet type. For other types such as chartsheets and dialogsheets, the content is ignored and a blank 8.5” x 11” page will be created in its place. |
Date Compatibility |
This attribute, which is part of the Workbook Properties element, specifies whether the date base should be treated as a compatibility date base or should support the full ISO 8601 date range. |
Both the compatibility date base and IS0 8601 date range are supported. |
Date 1904 |
This attribute, which is part of the Workbook Properties element, indicates whether to use a 1900 or 1904 date base when converting serial values in the workbook to date. |
Both 1900 and 1904 date bases are supported. |
