ImageGear for .NET version 20.2 includes the following new or enhanced functionality:
PDF Improvements
- Enhanced PDF/A-1a and PDF/A-1b Verifier.
- Enabled Recognition to PDF/A output.
Recognition Enhancements
- New Recognition Letter API.
- Extended output manager to save recognition output to stream as well as to file.
- Improved Recognize to PDF functionality to better and more consistently handle character, word and paragraph spacing.
- The default quality of JPEG compressed images created by the Recognition assembly for PDF output has been reduced slightly. Generally, the decrease in quality is not noticeable. However, it can now be adjusted easily using the JPEG format filter in ImageGear.
ASP.NET/HTML5 Functionality Updates
- Added support for Camera Raw images.
- Added support for Excel documents.
- Client side error reporting.
ASP.NET Web Configuration Tool
- Enhanced settings to enable/disable DICOM, JPEG 2000, Camera Raw and Microsoft Office formats.

Raster Format Enhancements
- Edit embedded JPEG 2000 metadata without introducing image quality loss.
- Edit embedded Adobe PSD and PSB metadata without introducing image quality loss.
- Extended handling of the TIFF NewSubfileType to provide the option to treat thumbnail pages as true pages.
Microsoft Office Support
- Rendering of Microsoft Office PowerPoint files has been improved to support custom shapes geometry, graphic frames (tables) and gradient color.
ART Enhancements
- Support for coordinate-changing rotation and flipping of ART annotations.
- New API for exposing ruler annotation values and setting units of measure.
- Enhanced API for getting annotations bounding box.
- Enhanced WinForms annotator’s performance for moving and resizing annotations.
Clipboard API
- Copy and Paste functionality for raster images.
Improved Direct3D Performance
- Render vector files more than 4 times faster. Some minor differences may be visible in vector rendering and rasterization due to this improvement.
New Rasterization Method
- New rasterization method to convert SVG files to 32-bit RGBA raster files.
