ImagXpress® supports the following file formats:

The asterisks (**) below denote the format option is available in the Professional Edition only.

BMP (Microsoft Windows Bitmap)

Reads 1, 4, 8, 16, 24 and 32-bit BMP.
Reads 1, 4 and 8-bit RLE compressed BMP.
Writes 1, 4, 8 and 24-bit BMP.
16 and 32-bit BMP files are converted to 24-bit.

CALS (Type 1)**

Reads 1-bit CALS-1 TypeI.
Writes 1-bit CALS-1 TypeI.
Modify CALS tags.

Camera Raw**

Reads most vendor specific camera raw formats.

DCX (PC Paintbrush Multiple Page File Format)

Reads 1, 4, 8 and 24-bit DCX.
Writes 1, 4, 8 and 24-bit DCX.

DIB (Microsoft Windows Device Independent Bitmap)

Reads 1, 4, 8, 16, 24 and 32-bit DIB.
Writes 1, 4, 8 and 24-bit DIB as BMPs.
16 and 32-bit DIB files are converted to 24-bit.

DWF (AutoCAD Design Web Format)**

Reads DWF.

DWG (AutoCAD Drawing Database)**

Reads DWG versions 2.5 through 2007.

DXF (AutoCAD Drawing Interchange Format)**

Reads DXF.

EMF (Microsoft Enhanced Metafile Format - also known as WMF)

Reads Windows Metafiles.
EMF may be displayed in Metafile format or optionally converted to device dependent bitmaps for display.

GIF (CompuServe Graphics Interchange Format)

Reads 1 through 8-bit GIF.
Writes 1, 4 and 8-bit GIF.
Reads and writes GIF89a and GIF87a formats.
Reads and writes interlaced and non-interlaced formats.
Reads and writes GIF with a transparent color.
Internally, 2 & 3-bit GIFs are converted to 4-bit, and 5, 6, and 7-bit GIFs are converted to 8-bit.

ICO (Microsoft Windows Icon)

Reads 1, 4, 8, 16, 24, and 32-bit ICO. Single and multiple image.
Writes 1, 4, 8, and 24-bit ICO. Single and multiple image.
16 and 32-bit ICO files are converted to 24-bit.
Reading and writing a transparent color is supported.

JBIG2 (Joint Bi-level Image Experts Group)

Reads black and white (bi-tonal) images.
Writes black and white (bi-tonal) images.**
Supports standard lossless, lossy and lossy to lossless compression.

JEDMICS C4**

Reads JEDMICS C4.

JLS (JPEG LS Format)**

Reads 2 through 16-bit grayscale and 24-bit color JLS.
Writes 2 through 16-bit grayscale and 24-bit color JLS.

JP2, J2K (JPEG 2000 Format)

Reads 2 through 16-bit grayscale and 24-bit color JP2, J2K.
Writes 2 through 16-bit grayscale and 24-bit color JP2.
Supports lossless and lossy compression and decompression.

JPEG, JIF (JPEG File Interchange Format)

Reads 8 and 12-bit grayscale and 24-bit color JPEG.
Writes 8 and 12-bit grayscale and 24-bit color JPEG.
Reads and writes JFIF compliant JPEG and Progressive JPEG formats.
Reads and writes EXIF and IPTC metadata.**

JPEGXR (formerly Microsoft Windows Media Photo – known as HDP and WDP)

Reads 8-bit and 16-bit gray, RGB or RGBA (8-bits per channel unsigned integer).
Writes 8-bit and 16-bit gray, RGB or RGBA (8-bits per channel unsigned integer).**

LJP (Lossless JPEG)**

Reads 8 through 16-bit and 4-bit grayscale, and 24-bit color lossless JPEG.
Writes 8 through 16-bit and 4-bit grayscale, and 24-bit color lossless JPEG.
Supports RGB and YCBCR compression, and decompression.

MO:DCA**

Reads 1-bit MOD:CA.
Writes 1-bit MOD:CA.
Reads PTOCA and IOCA:
o 1 bpp IBM MMR, 1 bpp G4, 1 bpp ABIC, 4 bpp Concatenated ABIC (Grayscale).
o PTOCA Fonts: C0CHz00p0.
o Codepages: Default to EBCIDIC codepages but also support codepage ‘T1001252’ for ASCII data.
o Support internal overlays.

PBM (Portable Bitmap)

Reads 1-bit PBM.
Writes 1-bit PBM.

PCX (PC Paintbrush File Format)

Reads 1, 4, 8 and 24-bit PCX.
Writes 1, 4, 8 and 24-bit PCX.

PDF (Image-Only)

"Image-only" is defined as a PDF containing one image per page and without searchable text.
Writes 1, 8 and 24-bit uncompressed image streams. Single and multiple page.
Writes 8, 24 bit and CMYK JPEG compressed image streams. Single and multiple page.
Writes 1 bit CCITTFax (G3-1D, G3-2D, G4) and JBIG2 compressed image streams. Single and multiple page.
Reads 1-bit ASCIIHex, ASCII85, CCITTFax (G3-1D, G3-2D, G4), Flate, JBIG2, JPEG, JPEG2000, LZW, RLE and uncompressed image data. Single and multiple page.
Reads 4-, 8-, 24- and 32-bit ASCIIHex, ASCII85, Flate, LZW, RLE, JPEG, JPEG2000 and uncompressed image data. Single and multiple page.

PGM (Portable Graymap)

Reads 8-bit grayscale PGM.
Writes 8-bit grayscale PGM.

PIC, ePIC (Accusoft Enhanced PIC)

Reads 8-bit grayscale and 24-bit ePIC format.
Writes 8-bit grayscale and 24-bit ePIC format.
Reads and writes 24-bit ePIC.
Supports password image protection.

PNG (Portable Network Graphics)

Reads 1, 4, 8, 16 and 24-bit PNG.
Writes 1, 4, 8 and 24-bit PNG.
Reads and writes interlaced and non-interlaced formats.
16-bit PNG files are decompressed to 24-bit.

PPM (Portable Pixmap)

Reads 24-bit PPM.
Writes 24-bit PPM.

RLE (Run-Length Encoded Bitmap)

Reads 1, 4 and 8-bit RLE.

RAW (Raw Image Data)

Reads 8 through 16-bit grayscale and 24-bit color.
Writes 1 through 16-bit grayscale and 24-bit color.
Supports RGB, RGB555, RGB565, RGBA, ARGB, BGR, BGRA, ABGR, CMYK, YUV, YUYV, UYVY, and YCBCR in both "big endian" and "little endian" formats.

TGA (Truevision Targa)

Reads 1, 8, 16, 24 and 32-bit TGA.
Writes 1, 8 and 24-bit TGA.
16 and 32-bit TGA files are converted to 24-bit.
Reads compressed and uncompressed TGA.
Writes uncompressed TGA.

TIFF (Tagged Image File Format)

Reads 1, 4, 8, 16, 24 and 32-bit uncompressed TIFF.
Writes 1, 4, 8 and 24-bit uncompressed TIFF.
Reads and writes CCITT RLE, Group 3, and Group 4 compressed TIFF.
Reads and writes 1, 4, 8 and 24-bit Pack Bits TIFF.
Reads and writes 1, 4, 8 and 24-bit LZW TIFF.
Reads and writes 8-bit grayscale and 24-bit color (JPEG 6 and JPEG 7) TIFF.
Reads and writes 1, 4, 8 and 24-bit deflate TIFF.
Reads and writes multiple page TIFF.
16 and 32-bit TIFF files are converted to 24-bit.
Reads CMYK TIFF.
Reads 9 to 16-bit gray scale TIFF.
Handles either "big endian" or "little endian" byte ordering.

Reads 8-bit grayscale WSQ.
Writes 8-bit grayscale WSQ.**
