ImagXpress® can load in camera manufacturer proprietary camera raw files. ImagXpress is essentially enabled to examine all incoming files to determine if the file format is a specific camera manufacturer's raw file format. This is because many camera manufacturer's raw file formats are essentially adaptations of existing file formats. Having CameraRaw enabled thus slows down loading of standard file formats. It is recommend that your application only enabled camera raw support if it is required.
This is not that same RAW files that are typically found in the medical community where the image data is stored separately (DICOM) from the information header that describes the image data.
