Public Property AspectY As Long |
The aspect ratio defines how many horizontal pixels are equal in size to a certain number of vertical pixels. Changing the aspect ratio of an image changes the image's appearance. The difference in appearance depends on the severity of the change.
This function is particularly useful when you are viewing a fax document, where the aspect ratio is incorrectly encoded. For example, low-resolution faxes scan in at 200 dpi horizontal and 100 dpi vertical. The aspect ratio of horizontal pixels to vertical ones is 2:1. Increasing the vertical aspect lowers the ratio and improves the fax appearance.
Note: The PCX file format does not provide aspect size information, so when the image displays, it appears squashed. By doubling the horizontal aspect, the image displays correctly.
