Here are some typical business scenarios where FormDirector can be used. All of these business scenarios are form processing applications.

Form Processing Application that Processes Filled Images of a Single Form

Such a form processing application is able to process single images or batch process many images of a single form. The processing may consist of alignment, image cleanup, data extraction, etc.

FormDirector would be used to store the template image, and the operations and instructions for the processing. FormDirector would also be used to store the location of fields on the image.

Form Processing Application that Processes Filled Images of Many Forms

Such a form processing application is able to process a single image or batch process many images of many different forms. The processing may consist of identifying the template image that matches the filled form, aligning the filled image, and conditionally (based on the template image it matches with) cleaning up the image, sorting the images, extracting data from the image.

FormDirector would be used to store the set of template images, and the separate operations and instructions for the processing of each template. FormDirector would also be used to store the location of fields on each form.

Form Processing Application that Extracts Data from a Fields Specified in an Image

Such a form processing application is able to read machine- or hand-printed text, barcodes, and interpret mark-boxes in filled images that are passed to it.

FormDirector would be used to store the operating instructions for the processing of fields, and the location of the fields on the images.

Form Processing Application that Sorts Images of Forms

Such a form processing application is able to identify an image of an unidentified form and sort the images in an image database.

FormDirector would be used for storing template images of forms and for storing the processing instructions for identifying the images.

Form Processing Application that uses Other Accusoft Components

Such a form processing application is able to identify a form image, align the image, perform cleanup operations on the image, read machine- or hand-printed text from the image, read barcodes on the image, and interpret mark-boxes in the image, all using Accusoft components.

Form Processing Application the uses Non-Accusoft Components

Such a form processing application is able to identify a form image, align the image, perform cleanup operations on the image, read machine- or hand-printed text from the image, read barcodes on the image, and interpret mark-boxes in the image, using a combination of Accusoft components and image processing components from another distributor.

FormDirector would be used to store the operating instructions for the processes used to identify the image, align the image, cleanup the image, and read fields in the image. It would also store template images of the forms and store the location of the fields on the image.
