The Inverted 2 of 5 barcode is a self-checking, numeric 1D barcode with an optional checksum for error detection. This barcode is similar to Industry 2 of 5 barcodes, but all the information is encoded in the spaces, rather than the black bars.
The following example barcode encodes the information 12345
as a Inverted 2 of 5 barcode:
The Inverted 2 of 5 barcode encodes information in the spaces, while the Industry 2 of 5 barcode encodes information in the bars.
Code 2 of 5 barcodes use the same symbology, so Industry 2 of 5, IATA 2 of 5, Interleaved 2 of 5, Inverted 2 of 5, DataLogic 2 of 5, Matrix 2 of 5, and BCD Matrix are all very similar.
