How To Set Parameters > Customizing the User Interface > Arrange Toolbars

Glossary Item Box

The Arrange Toolbars dialog box allows you to select the toolbar and toolbar button settings for Prizm® Viewer. You can adjust the toolbars by selecting the order in which they are displayed and indicate when you want to display a toolbar on a new row (on the Rebar). You can also remove entire toolbars so they are not displayed at all.

Toolbars and their corresponding buttons can be selected or de-selected in the Available Toolbars and Buttons list. You can also select or de-select toolbars at the group level. You can add, remove or position the toolbar buttons in any order, however, toolbar buttons cannot be moved from one toolbar to another (for example, the Preferences toolbar button will always be associated with the Prizm Viewer toolbar).

The information listed in the Configuration File Parameters list reflects how the contents of the .ini file will look after you select OK to save your changes. For toolbars and toolbar buttons, instructions to Prizm Viewer are presented as including all toolbars and toolbar buttons, minus any excluded toolbars and toolbar buttons. Selecting OK will update the file contents in temporary storage but the file is not written until you select Save from the Main menu. Selecting Cancel will not update temporary storage with the changes.

To arrange the toolbars and toolbar buttons, select the Edit Parameters feature which is described below.

Edit Parameters

  1. Click Edit Parameters to display the Arrange Toolbars dialog box.
  2. From the Available Toolbars and Buttons list, de-select the menu items that you don't want to display or select the items that you do want to display in the application.
  3. Click on Prepare Item List to move your selection(s) into the Configuration File Parameters list.
  4. If you want to resequence the toolbars or toolbar buttons, follow the steps outlined in the corresponding sections below. Otherwise, continue with step 5.
  5. To save your selections, click OK. To clear the list and start over, click Clear List. To cancel your selections, click Cancel.
To save changes to the .ini file, you must click on the Save button on the Main menu before exiting the application.

Resequence Toolbars

Once you have made your selections in the Available Toolbars and Buttons list, you can change the order in which the toolbars display:

  1. Click on Resequence Toolbars and the Toolbar Sequence and Attributes dialog box displays.
  2. Select a toolbar that you want to modify in the Toolbars list and then click Move up or Move down to the desired location.

You can also select attributes for the toolbar in the Toolbar Attributes group box:

  1. Select the Add width (points) check box and then select the width in the scroll box. If the toolbar width is adjusted, all toolbars on the Rebar will be the same width.
  2. If you want to put a toolbar on a new row, select the Place selected toolbar on a new row check box. The default setting is to put the Mouse Toolbar on a new row.
  3. Click OK to save your changes or Cancel to clear your changes.
You must click Prepare Item List to move your selections to the Configuration File Parameters list. Doing this saves your changes to temporary storage so when you click Save on the Main menu, the changes will be written to the .ini file.
