P

PDF Document
Portable Document Format, a file format created by Adobe® System to represent documents independently of the application software, hardware, and operating system used to create them, and independently of the output device on which they are displayed or printed. PDF documents may contain several types of information: Static appearance information describing the content, layout, and formatting of one or more pages in the document. Each page of the PDF document may contain text, vector graphics, and raster images. Interactive information, describing a user's interaction with the document. Examples of interactive information are annotations, thumbnail images, and bookmarks. Higher-level information that is useful for interchange of content among applications and users. One example is document metadata.

PDF File
Each PDF file contains a header, which identifies the PDF version to which the file conforms (e.g., v1.6), a body containing the PDF document, and additional structural information to enable random access and update to the PDF file.

PDF Image Only
A PDF document in which each page contains one image, and no text objects.

PDF Image+Text

PDF Normal

PDF/A
PDF/A is the recognized ISO standard for long term archival of PDF documents. It is an electronic document format for long term preservation or archiving purposes. It omits the PDF features not suitable for long-term archiving, while preserving the visual appearance independent of the tools and systems used to create and store it. PDF/A documents are self-contained, i.e., all the information required for displaying the document while maintaining its visual integrity each time is embedded in the file itself. Links to external sources are not supported if the necessary information is not embedded.

T

Thread-safe
An application using this component can use multiple controls running in the same process, where they don't interfere with each other. The thread creating the control owns the control and is the only thread that can interact with it.

Thumbnail Images
