Upgrading from PDF Xpress 5 to PDF Xpress 6

This section describes how to upgrade from PDF Xpress 5 to PDF Xpress 6. While generally you'll be able to simply replace PDF Xpress 5 with PDF Xpress 6, there are a few important changes you may need to consider. This section provides information about those changes.

Specific API Changes are described in the PDF Xpress changes.txt file, accessible from the Start menu.

New API

PDF Xpress 6 introduces changes to the PDF Xpress API, as described in this section.

A new enumeration PdfCoordinateSystem has been added.
A new overload of the GetInfo() method has been added to the Document class that takes a PdfCoordinateSystem as a parameter.
A Compress property has been added to the SaveOptions class to enable document compression during a save operation.
A CompressOptions property has been added to the SaveOptions class to control document compression during a save operation.
A CompressOptions class has been added to provide compression options.
The Enumerations JpegCompressionLevel, Jpeg2000CompressionLevel, Jbig2CompressionLevel, and ColorAndGrayCompressionMode have been added.

Miscellaneous Changes

The .NET assembly Accusoft.PdfXpress6.Net.dll is now code signed with SHA1/Authenticode and SHA256/RFC3161.
The .NET installer now distributes ImagXpress 12, NotateXpress 12, ThumbnailXpress 5, PrintPRO 7, and TwainPRO 8.
The .NET samples now utilize ImagXpress 12 and NotateXpress 12.
The .NET installer now registers MHV-2 help catalogs for VisualStudio 2010, VisualStudio 2012, and VisualStudio 2013.
Removed VisualStudio 2008 samples; added VisualStudio 2012 and VisualStudio 2013 samples.
