Redactions

The Redactions capability included with the Prizm Content Connect Plus allows for easy redaction of sensitive and confidential information from right within the viewer. Secure and share more than 300 document types using the enhanced Annotation toolset provided by the Redaction module. Each user can add and burn in a redaction annotation, eliminating the underlying text and producing a fully searchable PDF. Redactions are stored as separate XML files associated with the original document, and do not alter or change the original file.

PCC will redact image raster elements, permanently altering the pixel data, within PDFs as part of the the standard redaction process. There may be cases where this is not possible due to unsupported image compression or otherwise non-complaint image. In this event, redaction on the PDF will continue, but without change to the underlying raster image element. In such cases a warning will be sent to the log and the http response/console.

Licensing

Prizm Content Connect no longer requires a separate download for redactions. However, the appropriate license must be purchased to enable this capability. Instances of PCC not licensed for redactions will not see the Redactions tab in the Flash or HTML5 viewers.
