If the ImageXView.Image property has a greater bit depth than the monitor supports, then the ImageXView object will down sample the image when sending it to the display device.
In some cases, it may be necessary for the application programmer to artificially set the display device to a lower bit depth than the hardware supports (for example, to simulate the application's performance and appearance on a VGA monitor). Use the ImageXView.DisplayMode property to get and set the maximum color depth to use on the display device:
